With September coming to a close, leaves are falling and decorating the ground with bright, colorful, statements, bringing with them brown leather boots, pumpkin lattes, and the cheers of Friday night football. Fall has come to visit us again.
It’s clear that the apple could otherwise be named the King of Fall Fruits, populating kitchens with its flavor from September to November with apple cider, apple crisp, apple butter, apple doughnuts. Andrew and I decided to celebrate its reigning season by heading to Carter Mountain Orchard with our dear friends Alana and Justin.
From the first apple we plucked off the tree to the final scrapings of our Apple Crisp, every moment of the afternoon was simply delightful. Fall, we are so glad you’re here. Linger as long as you can!
… Upgraded them, and ate them! We used about half of our apples to make a few rounds of Martha Stewart’s Apple Crisp. It was a tasty investment.
And there is the account of our Saturday of Fall! What do you do to celebrate the season?
